It’s an Industrial BID tradition.  Each Halloween, the BID Public Safety team escorts youngsters for a brief “trick-or-treat” excursion to businesses in the immediate area.  The event is coordinated by School on Wheels, located at 7th & San Pedro, where children receive after-school academic tutoring.  This year, Central Area LAPD officers greeted the kids at several points throughout the route, giving out candy and providing an extra measure of safety.  The biggest surprise awaited the youngsters at LAPD’s Central Station, where they were greeted by Captain Marc Reina and invited to climb and play aboard police vehicles.  The finale was a special “fly over” by an LAPD Air Support helicopter, wishing everyone a happy and safe Halloween.
