URI DAVILLIER – NEPTUNE GLASSWORKS
As co-founder of The Kohler Street Collective—an incubator and community space for local artists—designer Uri Davillier established Neptune Glassworks in 2000 to serve as a design studio specializing in glassblowing, ceramics, and lighting.
Uri’s background in Engineering and Fine Arts translates effortlessly into an innovative brand that values process and law of physics when creating unique pieces. Most of Uri’s lighting sculptures and ceramic dishware is inspired by geometrical shapes and original concepts, bridging classic technique with a modern take.
The Industrial District warehouse that houses the almost twenty-year-old design studio is home to several artists that contribute and help bring Uri’s vision to life. Pieces from the Neptune Glassworks collection can be found throughout LA—featured at Otium Restaurant in downtown, Kit & Ace, and the Hollywood Bowl.
Along with fellow The Kohler Street Collective co-founder Meyghan Hill, Uri will be honored with the EGDE Award at this year’s LA Design Festival in late June. The festival will also feature a co-curated special gallery experience with new pieces by Neptune Glassworks and (wh)ORE HAuS STUDIOS.
